‘Perfect School’ October 15, 2008

A man wants to open his own, perfect school, he wants a school full of surprises, a school that’s innovative and flexible at the same time. He wants a school that’s got a sense of humour. He wants a school where you say ‘yes’ to things instead of ‘no’.
The idea of such a ‘perfect school’ sounds good to me. I’d like to be a pupil of a school, where the classes are funny and interesting.Of course I’m glad with the school which I go to at the moment and I don’t want to go to another school because of the friends and everything but the lessons aren’t boring…at least not all of them :D.
It’s a good idea and I’m sure that lots of children will have a nice schooltime in this school.

In Germany we have 6 weeks summer holidays.
In this 6 weeks I was the whole time at home even though I’d liked to go to Italy and visit my grandparents because I haven’t been there for almost 5 years know I think. How ever,the holidays were great. I’ve spent a lot of time with my friends. We went to the outdoor pool made lots of things and had fun! Unfortunatelly the weather wasn’t so good all the time while the holidays in Germany so 2 weeks were really boring and I had nothing to do. It’s also beacuse the most of my friends were in France or Italy. The funniest and best time of the holidays was the last week the weather was fine and we enjoyed every minute of the last time before the next schoolyear started. Normally after 6 weeks of holidays I think it’s good that school starts again because I can see many friends again but this time I thought it could have been a bit more : D . Well, know the fourth schoolweek after the end of the holidays has started and it’s a bit hard but we can’t do anything as pupils and next week we’re going to write our first examens which is not a good thing xD !
Trip to Oxford May 13, 2008

Two weeks ago we went to England. Now I’ll tell you something about it:
My favorite day was the first day (Tuesday).We made a really through the city so we saw a lot of interesting things and sights.I liked the Christ Church very much but not because Harry Potter was filmed there it was great and it’s something special.
The trip in general was really good.We were able to see a lot of famous buildings and other things like the universitys but I didn’t like that we had to sit in a coach so long as we did the sight-seeing tour in London.
I think I wouldn’t like to study at Oxford University because I had to leave my home for a while,my familly,my friends and it would be strange the first time because it’s a totally ‘different world’ for me.And I also don’t like the english weahter,it’s to rainy and cold. 
Some examples why I think that it’s a ‘different world’ :
-The cars drive in the other direction than in Germany
-The telephone cells are red (and not yellow like in Germany)
-The taxis don’t have the same colour (in Germany they are yellow)
I think all these things are just different for me because I’m not used to it.
Work Experience April 13, 2008

Some weeks ago,I participated in a work experience programme organised by my school.Now I’m going to tell you something about it:
I found my company,a hospital called “St.Elisabeth-Klinik”,with the help of my aunt which is a nurse.The hospital was founded in 1820 by the “Franziskaner Nonnen”,I think, I can’t say it exactly because my computer doesn’t load the hospital’s website so it may can be wrong.
I worked as an electrician and a typical day began with a short ‘meeting’ of all the workers.Then all the workers went to their workplace.In my case I went to the electric work shop every morning.After that we managed our tasks which the electrician had got at the meeting.Next it was time for the breakfast.As the breakfast was over we picked up the work and at 12.00 a.m it was lunchtime.After the lunchtime we finished our tasks and I could go home.
It was very interesting.More interesting than it sounds like.I was able to see the operating room and lots of other things.
So on the whole the two weeks were very funny and interesting but I think I can’t do something like that forever. ;D

Now we have a new homework again.
It’s about carnival.For those who don’t know what it is or who live in a countrie where it’s not celebrated I’ll explain it to you:
Carnival is a festival season. It occurs immediately before Lent.The main events are usually during February or March. It typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus and public street party. People often dress up during the celebrations.
I can’t say I like Carnival but I also can’t say I hate it,so it’s mixed ;D.
I didn’t celebrate it last year and this year(well,this year some friends of mine and me played pool during Carnival but I think that’s not a celebration^^),so I can’t upload pictures of me. I I think I’ll celebrate Carnival next year but I don’t know if I’m going to dress me up,maybe as a Pirate or something else. =D

Now it’s our homework to post a list which we had to do a long,long,long time ago.The list is about what the English people think about the Germans and we had to say what we were thinking :
1.They aren’t friends with their neighbours:
-I think that’s different,most people I know are friends with there neighbours but of course there are some who aren’t friends with their neighbours but there are some reasons why they aren’t.
2.The get up early and go to bed early:
-I think that the most Germans are doing that because they have to go to work or to school, there are some Germans who don’t have to go to work and do it but isn’t it better to get up early instead of 14.30 a.m?
3.There is more fresh food,less produced stuff:
-That there is more fresh food is not true I think but there are less Fastfood restaurants.
4.If guests want more food,they take it.(Don’t wait to be asked or You’ll wait for ever!):
-That’s different,some Germans ask others not.I think that’s everywhere in the world ?!
5.Germans absolutely love mineral water:
-It’s different some love it,some hate it.(Like in point 1,2,4)
6.They don’t stand in line.(You have to push your way to the front in stores and onto trains):
-That’s wrong in stores everybody is standing in line but after the kids are pushing there ways onto buses.
7.Germans don’t waste time on polite phrases - they say what they mean:
-On the one hand it’s true, when they’re talking to people they know they don’t use polite phrases,on the other hand it’s wrong for example when they’re talking to people who aren’t from Germany they use polite phrases or when they are talking to older people.
That was a lot to write and don’t know if that’s like we have to do it but I think I did a good job

In school we’re just talking about the story “A Christmas Carol”.
Now, it’s our homework to tell you what has happened so far in the first eight chapters which we were listening to:
Ebenezer Scrooge is an old mean person living in London. He doesn’t like Christmas and thinks it’s a humbuck.One day after work he went home and unlocked his door, suddenly the face of his old partner Jakob Marley appeared on the knocker.That was strange because Jakob Marley died 7 years ago. He thinks it’s a humbuck too and that there aren’t ghosts or something like that. But when he ate a soup, some bells rang and he heard chains and screams. Then the ghost of Jakob Marley stood in front of him. The ghost warned him to get unhappy like Jakob himself and he told him that three other ghosts will take him back to his past to the present and to the future. The ghost of Christmas past showed him his childhood. The ghost of Christmas present showed him what the people really think about him and how mean he is. The ghost of Christmas future showed him that he will die when he won’t change his life immediately.
So far we were listening to it and that’s how I think the story will go on :
Ebenezer Scrooge will wake up in his bed at Christmas morning and he’ll change his life. I also think that he’ll pay the doctor for the little Tiny Tim so that he wont die (Tim) and he’ll give some money to the Gratchits.Or he’ll invite all people he konws to a big diner on Christmas eve.
